Mike is an Eastside native growing up in Bellevue and attending Bellevue High School. At Bellevue he played football and was an All-American lacrosse player. He continued his football career at the University of Puget Sound and earned honors as an Academic All-American. Mike received his physical therapy degree from Washington University School of Medicine Program in Physical Therapy. At graduation, he was given the distinguished Director’s Award recognizing his achievements both in the classroom and clinical practice.
Mike is currently the owner and director of Washington Physical Therapy and the Washington Institute of Sports Medicine in Kirkland, Washington. For the past 14 years, Mike has worked exclusively with orthopedic and sports medicine patients including the Seattle Sounders, Seattle Thunderbirds, various NFL and MLB players, X-games athletes, Olympic Athletes, competitive weight lifters, fire fighters, and MMA fighters. Mike is a frequent guest lecturer on orthopedic topics, ergonomics, taping, and business ownership and practice. He has served as a consultant for healthcare technology companies, created a back care video for fire fighters, and has worked with the City of Kirkland and City of Woodinville.
Having suffered several concussions while playing high school and collegiate football, Mike has taken a strong interest in concussion management. He continues to routinely participate in continuing education courses regarding concussion care and partnered with Dr. Thomas DePuydt to create a concussion program to serve the Eastside and Seattle. Dr. DePuydt and Mike have been working together for the past 11 years and continue to provide patient focused care to our community.
Presently, Mike lives in Kirkland with his wife and 2 daughters. When not at work, he continues to enjoy an active lifestyle including skiing, hiking, cycling, wakeboarding, boating, and golf.
